A sound installation under the Positive project, dealing with visually impaired people, and their way of experiencing the world, will be exhibited at the National Rehabilitation for the Blind Center, Plovdiv, from 12th September 2019 to 18th October 2019. The sound installation uses space orientation and sound modelling. It is based on echolocation – one of the orientation methods of visually impaired people. The strength and interval of the sound, the overall positioning of the installation elements are calculated with the help of a visually impaired assistant. A presentation of the sound installation will be held on 25.9.2019 at the NRCB from 15:30 till 18:30. All guests and visitors of the city and organization are welcomed to the opening.

A social experiment “A cup of coffee in the darkness” will be held on 17 September 2019 in the art-gallery of visually impaired artists in the Archeological subway, Plovdiv. The NRBC invites all Plovdiv citizens and guests to submerge into the world of visually impaired people and have a cup of coffee in total darkness, thus experiencing the challenges and difficulties, which the visually impaired encounter in their everyday life and understand more about living without eyesight. It’s a free entry and the initiative is held within the “"Expanding the Center for Mutual Assistance, Integration and Support” of the National Rehabilitation Center for the Blind - Plovdiv" Project, funded by the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development, “Equal Chances” procedure.

On June28, 2019, the National Rehabilitation Center for the Blind will hold a movie projection, adapted for visually impaired people. The initiative will be carried out within the framework of the project "Expanding the Center for Mutual Assistance, Integration and Support” of the National Rehabilitation Center for the Blind - Plovdiv". The project is funded by the European Social Fund under the Operational Programme for Human Resources Development, “Equal Chances” procedure.

The movie that will be presented is Slumdog Millionaire from 2008 . It  is a 2008 British drama film telling the story of 18-year-old Jamal Malik from the Juhu slums of Mumbai. Starring Dev Patel as Jamal, and filmed in India, the film was directed by Danny Boyle and was widely acclaimed, being praised for its plot, soundtrack, direction, and performances, especially Patel's. As a contestant on the Indian version of „Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?“ , Jamal surprises everyone by being able to answer every question correctly. Accused of cheating, Jamal recounts his life story to the police, illustrating how he is able to answer each question correctly.

постер Весели очички A charitable campaign "Happy eyes" will be held on 20.6.2019 under the project "Ëxpanding the activity of HIS Center to the NRCB". The event will start at 18:30 and it will be held at Trakart Gallery, in the Arheological Underpass. It will include a seminar for parents "Visual problems of the children and techniques for eyesight prevention", accompanied by vision screening for children with the latest PlusopiX S12c machine. The most suitable age of the children is 5-6 years old. Everyone is invited. Тhe entrance is free.
