A National conference “The art therapy as a form of rehabilitation”

A National conference “The art therapy as a form of rehabilitation” was held on April, 27, 2012 at the Cultural Center of UBB in Plovdiv. The conference was a part of the Project BG051PO001-5.2.06-0011-C-0001 Establishment of a day-time center for people with disabilities at NRBC – Plovdiv, under Operational Programme “Human Resources Development”.

     Staff and clients of NRBC, experts from the day-time rehabilitation centers throughout the country and volunteer students took part in the conference.

     Various interesting lectures were held. The subjects were: “Fine arts and people with visual impairments” by lecturer Dr. Peter Staykov; “Visually impaired people’s training in ceramics and pottery” by lecturer George Trak – Cultural Center “Trakart”; “Sensor integration in presenting the works of art for visually impaired people” by lecturer Alexandrina Kostova – NRBC.


     The Interactive session “Drum Circle”, presented by Martin Ivanov and Samuila Jekova – “Libera” Institute provoked a great interest and thrill, as all participators actively took part in it. The conference finished with a group discussion and a going through the pottery work-rooms and the products made by the trainees.
