On October, 12 NRCB welcomed a dear guest from France – Rene Breton, the President of the National Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired (UNADEV) in France, winner of the Order of the Honourable legion. Five years old, Rene Breton entered a House for blind children in Clermont Ferrand and one year later he started studying piano and solfeggio. He studied piano, harmony and violin at the National Conservatory in the region of Auvergne. He participates in pop and jazz music concerts with an orchestra. He regularly takes part in concerts, organized by the UNADEV in France (Paris, Lion, Bordot, Ange, Toulouse, Aix-en Provance), for the affiliation of general public with the problems of the visual impaired people. He also takes part in international events: - International Contest for Great piano lovers in Paris (2010, 2011 and 2013); - Chopin Festival, organized by the Union of the Blind in Warsaw, Poland; - The Villefranche de Astarak Contest (Gers, 2012). - In 2012 and 2013 he participates in in the Sesi Jazz International Festival in France – a music performance of blind musicians, together with musicians from Bulgaria, France and Switzerland. In Bulgaria Rene Breton was dearly welcomed by Mr. Vasil Dolapchiev, the President of the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria. The musician and his companions visited NRCB, explored the institution and expressed their good impressions of what they have seen. The visitation finished with a concert in the overcrowded Hall of the Trakart Gallery. The public enjoyed the fantastic performances of Bach and Chopin’s works, and also the original works of Rene Breton.
